Training your dog starts with you! This seminar is your prep work for successful group classes.

We will cover positive reinforcement training and discuss key elements such as timing of rewards, frequency of training, how to avoid inadvertently rewarding bad behavior, recommended length of training and answer any questions you may have.

Potty training seminar

Finding yourself potty training a new puppy? We are here to help! We will cover common challenges and pitfalls with potty training and how you can overcome them.

Problem behaviors seminar

Whether barking, jumping, digging, or chewing, this seminar gives you tools to help resolve the most common problem behaviors. We will identify the underlying cause which is the first step in correcting the behavior.

With a long Q&A session, you'll get the specific tools you need to turn problems into rewards.

What to bring for a successful class

  • Proof of vaccination. All dogs over 6 months need a current rabies vaccination. Distemper/Parvo vaccine for your dog’s age.
  • Soft Training treats and lots of them! We use positive reinforcement training methods so your dog is rewarded for doing what you want! A pouch is a convenient way to always keep treats nearby.
  • A non-retractable leash no longer than 6 feet. The key to loose leash walking is keeping your dog at your side while walking.
  • An appropriate collar - no prong or choke collars please.
  • Something to settle your dog during instruction (optional). we recommend a mat, a chew toy or treat.
  • Pro tip: freeze the chew toy or treat before class for extended enjoyment.
